Our journey started in 2012 when the father-son duo, Greene Lawson Jr. and Rob Lawson, incorporated Lawson Realty Group LLC.
Starting with 80 properties and a skeletal crew, we quickly doubled our client roster in just two years and added new members to the team. From then onwards, it has been a consistent rise to the top, to become the leading property management services company in Roanoke, Virginia.
Today, we have a team of 7 people who come from diverse educational backgrounds and professional experiences, together creating a strong, reliable, and highly skilled group of real estate specialists.
We are proud to say that we have worked with over 300 investors and homeowners in Roanoke, managing properties with a degree of professionalism and care that is highly appreciated by our clients.
Rob Lawson is a Roanoke native with an extensive background in both real estate and the law. Prior to attending college, he started a successful residential property maintenance business which provided a solid foundation for continued learning in the field. When the opportunity to attend college came his way, he took advantage of it and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration.
After graduation, he began work at Waldvogel, Poe, and Cronk as the commercial sales and leasing assistant to the then president of the National Association of REALTORS©, Dennis Cronk. Eventually he took on the role of Director of Property Services, where he ran the commercial and residential property management divisions.
In 2003, Rob left the firm to earn his Juris Doctorate and is now a licensed attorney in Virginia, North Carolina, and the District of Columbia. After practicing law for six years, he and his Dad, Greene Lawson, began brainstorming on joining forces in the residential property management business. In 2012, Rob and Greene Lawson, formed Lawson Realty Group, LLC.
Erin Duncan is an experienced, licensed real estate professional who has been actively listing and selling property in the Roanoke Valley since 2014. She is a Salem native and with extensive knowledge of the Roanoke Valley Real Estate Market.
Erin is well versed in all aspects of real estate with a background that includes working for local real estate attorneys as a post closer and assisting in closings and settlements.
She truly enjoys working with each of her clients and strives to stay abreast in all aspects of the industry in order to provide her clients with a first rate experience.
Erin is excited to learn and grow in her position as a Property Manager with Lawson Realty Group.
Crystal Stewart is a Roanoke native. She has 11+ years of experience in managing residential and commercial real estate. In 2012 she began working at MKB, REALTORS in the Property Management Division as the Bookkeeper, she went above and beyond her Bookkeeping role and was promoted to Assistant Property Manager in 2013. In 2020, she completed the Salesperson Real Estate Course at Moseley-Dickinson Academy of Real Estate, in 2021 she took on the Property Manager Role at MKB, REALTORS.
She genuinely enjoys what she does and takes pride in providing outstanding service to her clients and customers. She has knowledge in all roles that are involved in successfully managing properties as well as prior experience in banking, accounting, and collections. Her experience includes but is not limited to; client, vendor, and tenant relations, extensive knowledge of the current rental market, accounting/bookkeeping, marketing, maintenance, all aspects of the leasing process, move-out, move-in, and annual inspections, affordable housing, Landlord Tenant Act, and Fair Housing. She frequently attends property management conferences and seminars to ensure that she stays current on new trends and legal updates.
Austin Jones is a Roanoke native with an extensive background in property maintenance. Prior to joining Lawson Realty Group, LLC, in 2019, he worked as a maintenance technician for a larger apartment complex. From day one, Austin has proven his exceptional initiative and drive. Austin has consistently shown a strong work ethic and an ability to both adapt and excel in ever changing circumstances.
In January 2022, he was promoted to the leadership role as our Service Director, leading our maintenance division. In this role, Austin leads and manages our maintenance technicians, vendor relationships, and tenant and owner relationships.
With Austin’s extensive field experience and innate management skills, he is able to navigate complex maintenance issues and provide superior customer service to our tenants and clients.
Savannah Link joined the team here at Lawson Realty Group, LLC in the summer of 2021. She has thorough knowledge in the field of property management having worked in both South Carolina and Virginia for almost four years. Her specialties include, but are not limited to tenant retention and relations, marketing, and application processing.
She obtained her Associate’s degree in Paralegal Studies in the fall of 2020. She possesses knowledge in different aspects of law-related studies that pertain to Real Estate. Through her years in the service industry, she has attended yearly Fair Housing Seminars to stay relevant on new developments in the FHA. She also enjoys staying up to date on pertinent real estate and property management changes that occur nationwide.
Savannah is striving to divulge further into her career with us by learning more about finances, planning, and administrative functions.
Greene has been professionally involved in real estate since 1990. He began in sales and quickly became one of the area’s most successful REALTORS®. In 1992 he purchased his first residential investment property and has grown his portfolio substantially. While he continued in sales, word of mouth regarding his success in property management began to spread and in 1997 he began managing property for area investors.
In 2012, he and his son combined forces and collectively started Lawson Realty Group, LLC. Greene maintains an active role in real estate community and in the business.

2021: To better serve our clients, Lawson restructures and creates a hybrid management system, with an executive property manager, an assistant property manager, and a property administrator for each property. Additionally, we have a licensed full-time maintenance manager.
2020: The world slows as the pandemic sets in, Lawson, its clients, and tenants fair well, all things considered
2016 through 2019: Growth continues and Lawson brings on an additional property manager and two more full time maintenance technicians
2015: Lawson creates and fills a full time administrative position
2014: Lawson Realty Group hires its first full time maintenance employee

2003: Rob leaves Waldvogel, Poe & Cronk Real Estate Group to attend law school and sharpen his skills in the courtroom, an experience that has strengthened his foundation as a REALTOR®
2002: Greene starts RentRoanoke.com, a web site dedicated to connecting the supply and demand of rental housing in the Roanoke area
2001: Rob becomes the Director of Property Services at Waldvogel, Poe & Cronk, overseeing the residential and commercial property management divisions
1999: Rob takes a position at Waldvogel, Poe & Cronk assisting Dennis Cronk (then President-Elect of the National Association of REALTORS®), in real estate sales and leasing
1998: Rob completes his internship at Waldvogel, Poe & Cronk Real Estate Group during his last year of college
1997: Greene begins to manage residential real estate investments for other area investors; forms Realty Management, LLC
